As we announced some weeks ago, we have moved all the domains who we host to a new type of servers. This is Cobalt Networks: Cobalt RaQ microservers (256MB RAM, 10.2GB HD) who, besides giving high quality at a low cost, offer an interface web with different access hierarchy that allows the webmasters and the users to administrate their domains directly. The operative system is Linux 2.O and the software server is Apache 1.3
Linux is an operative system of the type Unix written initially by Linus Torvalds (Department of Computer Science, University of Helsinki) assisted by a group of hackers via Internet. It is a multiuser system with real multitasks, and is in constant evolution, each week incorporating something new to the system.
The central part of Linux is distributed via the General Public Licence GNU, which means that it can be freely copied changed and distributed, but it is not possible to impose additional restrictions to the products obtained and the source code must be available, just the same as the Linux code.
