Christmas Special 1999-2000. The web includes a diary of activities with information about concerts, popular dances, street activities, children's shows, nativity scenes, etc.; and a selection of links related to Christmas. You can also listen on Real Audio to the tradition chant of the Sibil·la, sung by Pere Antoni Canyelles Pons of Els Blavets de Lluc. The Sibil·la is a religious change that has been sung for centuries in the Christmas Eve midnight mass and is only preserved in Alguer (Sardinia) and Mallorca. The chant foretells the end of the world and in former times constituted a whole ceremony, still carried out in some churches, carried out by a young boy dressed in a tunic, with a cloak of embroidered silk, a special hat and a large sword in his hands.
