Today at 8 p.m. at the "Llotja" in Palma will be the vernissage of the Valencian artist Manolo Valdés. The opening
ceremony will be attended by Damiŕ Pons, Balearic Councillor for Education and Culture, and Vicente Sala, President of the CAM
(Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo) sponsors for the show. The exhibition will be open until February 20.
The sculptor and painter, Manolo Valdés, is one of the most original artists in contemporary art, with a very particular artistic
language that stands out for its lyricism and taste for cultured quotations. Many of his paintings are his own readings of universal
arts.
The exhibit that is presented in Palma groups together a total of 18 large size works, three sculptures and 15 paintings, carried out
between 1997 and 1999, some of which were shown in the last edition of the Venice Biennial.
