Next Saturday, March 25, in Valldemossa will take place the official opening of the Cultural Centre Costa Nord, with the
presence of the North American
Michael Douglas and his fiancee
Catherine Zeta Jones. The president of the Balearic Government,
Francesc Antich, the president of the Mallorcan Council, Maria Antònia Munar; the mayor of Valldemossa, Joan Muntaner, and other
representatives of the world of politics and institutions of the island, will attend. The centre will open its doors to the public a few
days later, probably on March 31 or April 1.
The Cultural Centre Costa Nord is a project instigated by Michael Douglas to promote the culture, the traditions and the marvellous
scenery of the Serra de Tramuntana. On the Costa Nord web
www.costanord.com full information about the three areas integrated in
the Centre can be found: the audiovisual projection area; the exhibition "Nixe" that reproduces the interior of the boat Nixe, that
belonged to the Arch Duke Luis Salvador; and the area called "A Legend of Passion" that offers a sample of objects, tools and
documents relating to the Serra.
