Last Monday, April 3, one of the regular meetings of the association "Antics Escoltes de Mallorca" (old scouts) was
held. Xavier Fortuny, councillor for the Marratxí town council, explained his experience and direct contacts he has kept with the
people who are working in the
Anantapur area of India. The Catalan, Vicenç Ferrer, has been there for over 40 years and he is due
to visit Mallorca soon.
The association, "Antics Escoltes de Mallorca" has proposed collaborating directly with this work carried out in India by the
Fundació Vicenç Ferrer, via a campaign called "WITH A MILLION PESETAS A SCHOOL CAN BE BUILT". Therefore they are
organising a series of activities to collect funds to hand over before the end of the year 2000.
