On Friday, the Metropolitan cinema in Palma held a prepremier of the film "
El Mar", that won in March the Manfred Salzgeber prize,
at the
International Film Festival of Berlin. The showing was attended my the majority of the technical and artistic team lead by the
director, the Mallorcan Agustí Villaronga. Assistance was also confirmed by the vice-president of the Govern, Pere Sampol, the
Councillor for Education and Culture, Damià Pons, the general director for Culture, Pere Muñoz and the Councillor for Culture of
Mallorca, Maria Antònia Vadell, amongst others. The film, "El Mar", is now on for two months at the Chaplin Cinema in Palma in its
Catalan version.
The film, "El Mar", based on the book that has the same name, written by the author of Santanyi
Blai Bonet, is placed in Mallorca,
during the Spanish civil war, when some children are witness to the executions of members of the Popular Front, carried out by
supporters of Franco.
