Artà: Fiestas de Sant Salvador

Artà will hold the patron festivities for Sant Salvador between July 29 and August 7. For this reason the Town Council has prepared a full programme that includes events for every taste and age: sporting activities, street parades, contests, exhibitions, concerts, theatre.... The Sant Salvador Fiestas are well known for their great participation both by people of the town and visitors.

The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 29 at 10 pm. in the Town Hall Square, with the dance "capgrossos", music by the "xeremiers" of the Artà music school, the invitation by the mayor, "coet boiet".... Followed by, at 10.30 p.m. in the same square, the firework run by Iguana Teatre, and to end the evening, Jass in the Plaza Conqueridor with LAURA SIMÓ and JAUME GINARD GRUP, and fiesta inside the bar Can Matemales.

Other events planned worth stressing are the "5th Concert in the Torrent de na Borges" on Sunday July 30; the classical music concerts in the Cloister of the Convent dels Franciscans (Festival Antoni Lliteres), on Sundays July 30 and August 6; the "Mallorcan Poetry Night" with PEP TOSAR and LLUIS MASSANET and JOAN BIBILONI on guitar, on Tuesday August 2; and the opening of the exhibition "Miquel Barceló and Manuel de Falla", in the Fons Documental Miquel Barceló, 2nd floor of Na Batlessa, on Sunday August 6.

And finally, on Monday August 7, we recommend the "Festa pagesa" in the Plaza del Conqueridor with the group ESCALFITS I CASTANYETES, at 10 p.m. and at midnight in the same square, the grand firework cracker end.
