The Deià church will be the scene throughout July of the "Interludi
Barroc" concerts, included in the
XXIII International Festival of Deià.
The programme includes four concerts that will be held on Saturdays 8,
15, 22 and 29 at 9 p.m. Jérôme Hantaï will open the cycle with works by
Marin Marais and Tobias Hume for gamba viola. The following concert, by
Charles Zebley (flute), Jérôme Hantaï (harpsichord) and Alix Verzier
(baroque violoncello), will be dedicated to Bach and Telemann. In the
third concert, the Illa de Mallorca orchestra conducted by Barry
Sargent, together with the tenor Pere Pou, will perform works by C.P.E.
Bach and Britten. To end the cycle, the musical group, Ensemble B --comprised of Francesc Crespí (flute), Miquel Àngel Aguiló
(violoncello), Ignasi Furió (flute) and Francesc Forteza (harpsichord)-- will offer a
concert of Sonatas with some interludes of lighter music from works by
Telemann, Corelli, Froberger and Händel.
