The new "Auditori d'Alcúdia" will open its doors next Sunday, July 9,
with the star performance by
Els Comdediants. Throughout the day, as
from noon, the Alcudia centre and the area of the beach will be full of
colour with the street show that Els Comediants have prepared for the
opening of the auditorium. Afterwards, as from 7 p.m. and until 10 p.m.
the new centre will offer continuous visits-show, also by the theatrical
company.
The official inauguration will take place on Thursday, July 13 at 12
noon, with the presence of the
Alcudia mayor, Miquel Ferrer; the
president of the
Mallorcan Council, Maria Antònia Munar and the
president of the Balearics, Francesc Antich; plus the concert by the
Camerata de Sa Nostra. In the evening there will be a second recital by
the Alcudia Choir and the municipal band.
On July 14 the "Auditori d'Alcúdia" will start its regular activity with
a programme that includes an operatic concert to present the winners of
the International Singing Competition "Noves Veus" (new voices) on July
14; the performance by the Catalan singercomposer,
Lluis Llach on July
15; the reading of the proclamation of the patron fiestas for Saint
James by the rector of the
UIB, Llorenç Huguet, followed by an
extraordinary concert by the
Balearic Symphony Orchestra "Ciutat de
Palma", on July 16; and the performance of theatrical works "Altres
Veus" (
Iguana Teatre), "Peter Pan" (
Teatre Educatiu) and "Tanca la
porta que tinc Freud" (Companyia de
Toni Albà), on July 18, 19 and 23
respectively.
