The
Teatre Principal in Palma will hold on September 2 and 3 the musical
"Tu ho ets tot" by the company Som n'hi.
Som n'hi is a theatrical musical group comprised exclusively of students
from the Barcelona University and the Universitat Politècnica de
Catalunya. It is an amateur group, formed of young people who wish to
attract a young public. A group of over 40 people, that has been going
for two and a half years with two productions so far.
The first, "Som n'hi. El musical", premiered on May 4, 1999 in the
meeting room of the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyers Industrials in
Barcelona, and their unexpected success made them start a new and much
more ambitious project: "Tu ho ets tot", a musical of their own
production, with the script written in Catalan by the members of the
group and songs of the best musicals of Broadway (West Side Story,
Grease, Cabaret...) Once again they obtained a great success in
Barcelona, making it possible for the group Som n'hi to present "Tu ho
ets tot" at the Teatre Principal in Palma on September 2 and 3.
"Tu ho ets tot" is the theatrical adaption of a script by Richard
Lagravanese, which in its film version "The Kingfisher" obtained 5 Oscar
nominations in Hollywood. According to members of the group in the
programme of the production "To convert this initial idea into a musical
has needed months of intense work and many rehearsals. The result is
what you are about to see: The need to discover what makes us feel
alive. Overcoming situations at their limit. The pleasure of finding
in others what goes beyond oneself. The daily struggle to obtain new
objectives or simply to be able to survive."
