Porreres and Sant Llorenç receive the triumphant competitors from Sydney

A thousand admirers gathered on Friday evening in the Plaça de la Vila in Porreres to pay tribute to Joan Llaneras, gold medalist in the Sydney Olympics for indoor cycling. Hours before, a delegation of some 200 people had welcomed him at the Palma Son Sant Joan airport, where Joan Llaneras landed together with his companion, Eva and son Pau.

Meanwhile, Marga Fullana, bronze medalist in mountainbike in Sydney, was received like a heroine by family, friends and fans.
