On October 27 the premier of
TOMANDOTE, in Mallorca and the whole of Spain will take place, a film by the Catalan
director, Isabel Gardela.
The history of this comedy is based on Gabi, a 30 year old writer who, after spending three years in Madrid living life to the
full, returns to Barcelona to accept an important literary prize for eroticism. By chance she meets Jalil, an Indian Moslem who
works in a flowershop, and falls in love with him. But soon the problems arise connected to their different cultures and way of
thinking.
The film, produced by Producciones de Kilimanjaro SL and distributed by
Lauren Films, stars Núria Prims, Zack Qureshi,
Txell Sust, Olalla Moreno, Teresa Gimpera, Germán Almendrós and Xavier Grasset. It has been filmed in the original version in
both Castilian and Catalan, and has been chosen to participate in different prestigious international festivals, such as the
Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, la
Mostra de Valencia Cinema del Mediterrani and the
London Film Festival, among
others. It will also participate in the
Festival International du Cinéma Méditerranéen that will be held in
Montpellier between
October 27 and November 5.
On Mallorca it will be shown
in Catalan at the Sala Rívoli.
