Sculptures by Joan Costa at the Gallery Altair

The Gallery Altair, carrer Sant Jaume, 23 in Palma, exhibits from November 16 till the end of December, sculptures in cast iron by Joan Costa (Palma 1961), called "Pla corb 521-B". The sculptor presents four works, one called "Hoping the rain", of large dimensions, and three others without a title.

Joan Costa had worked until now preferably using marble. This is the first exhibition in which the artist presents sculptures in cast iron.

According to Maria Lluïsa Borràs, in the presentation of the catalogue that illustrates the exhibition "Both with marble and with cast iron, Costa obtains an identical sense of profound unity of the purity of shape and of a kind of greatness based on simplicity."
