The Parc de ses Estacions, in the Plaça d'Espanya in Palma, will hold from December 22 until February 25, 2001, the
exhibition "125 years of the train on Mallorca", that presents a vision of the past, the present and the future of the train on the
island.
The exhibition, organised by the
Department of Public Works, Homes and Transport and by Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca,
has been installed in three marquees.
1. In the first marquee, there is a railway station from the beginning of the century, with its train and a multitude of objects
relating to the railway on Mallorca.
2. The second marquee is a documentary exhibition about the history of the train on Mallorca.
3. The third marquee presents a brief video with images of yesterday and today, an area dedicated to the information about the
present projects for the expansion of the railways, such as the route Inca-Sa Pobla, that will be opened on December 27, and a
model carried out by the Associació Amics del Ferrocarril, for the exhibition.
