The Fundación Telefónica is presenting the exhibition "
Oro, Incienso y Mirra. Los Belenes en España", that can be visited until
January 7, in the Sala de Exposiciones Temporales if the Foundation in calle Fuencarral, 3 in Madrid.
The exhibition presents the nativity scene tradition from multiple perspectives. Numerous museums, ecclesiastic institutions,
private collectors, foundations and associations have collaborated in the exhibition, that gathers together over 200 groups , with
a total of 2000 figures and elements, some of great material value, carried out in gold, silver, pearls, ivory, coral and other noble
materials.
Amongst the figures exhibited can be found some from collections from Mallorca, such as the "Angle with a harp" from the
Belén of the Church de la Sang in Palma or "Chestnut seller" from the Napolitan Nativity Scene of the XVIII century of the
Fundación Barlomé March Servera. There are also figures from the
Lluc Sanctuary and the Caputxines Convent in Palma.
