Poema Harmònic: barroque and renaissance music

Next Wednesday, December 20, within the celebrations of 700 years of Llucmajor, the vocal group Poema Harmónic will perform in the Arenal church at 9 pm.

The group Poema Harmònic, that takes its name from a guitar piece by Francesc Guerau, has performed in several parts of Mallorca in concerts that go from the Barroque to Renaissance. They have also recorded a disk called "Francesc Guerau Obra Vocal" that includes works by Guerau and other composers of the era.

Directed by the English soprano, Kym Amps, internationally well known as a member of The Schollars, this group hopes to recover and show works for the chamber choir repertoire. Until now they have worked with pieces by Victoria, Byrd, Guerrero, Durón, Imaña, Palestrina, Bach and other composers, both for chapel and accompanying époque instruments. .

Poema Harmònic has participated in different concert cycles on Mallorca: Setmana de Felanitx, Cicle de Música Antiga en el centre de cultura de Sa Nostra de Palma, Concerts sobre l'Herba de Bendinat, Concert d'estiu de Canyamel...
