On Saturday, January 20, Sant Sebastia's day, there will be the traditional dinner organised by the
Palma Council for the prize
giving of the Ciutat de Palma prizes. The ceremony will be held at the
Escola d'Hoteleria on the campus of the UIB as from 9
p.m. During the ceremony the winners of the prizes: Llorenç Villalonga for novels, Joan Alcover for poetry and Antoni
Gelabert for painting will be announced.
Parallelly, the same evening, as from 9.30 p.m. there will be another dinner, known as the "Arruixada 2001" at the
Palau de
Congressos in the Poble Espanyol organised by the creators and users of culture who protest against the cultural policy of the
Palma Council. The group was founded spontaneously after the manifestation that took place in the Casal Solleric in protest
against the exhibition of the Lladró ceramics.
During the meal "
