The principal floor of the Casal Solleric in Palma will house until
March 25 the exhibition "Suite 156", a series of etchings by Picasso.
The artist started the Suite 156 in 1970 and finished it in 1972.
Picasso died one year later in 1973, having signed only four copies of
this last work, that was edited after his death. The etchings of
the Suite 156, of which there are only three complete collections in the
world, appeared on the market with a stamp that reproduced the author's
signature.
The exhibition, organised by the
Palma
Town Council, has the collaboration of "
Bancaja.
Obra Social", an institutions that owns three complete series of etchings
by Picasso, known as the suites: "Suite Vollard" that was exhibited
last year at the Museu d'Art Espanyol Contemporani in Palma, the
"Suite 156", that is now being presented at the Casal Solleric and the
"Suite 347".
