Since 1993, an initiative by the cultural association Albopàs,
presided by the Sa Pobla chemist, Antoni Torrens, the emblematic celebrations
for Sant Antoni in Sa Pobla, together with hundreds of Mallorcans, go on
to Gràcia, in Barcelona, strengthening the cultural links that join
the two localities.
Today, Thursday January 25, the photographic exhibition by the Mallorcan,
Aina Vives, "Què fan els poblers pel Sant Antoni de Gràcia?"
will open at the
Centre Artesà
Tradicionarius in Gràcia, and will stay open until Friday,
February 23.
Following tradition, on January 27 as from 8.30 p.m. there will be a
street parade; at 9 p.m. the traditional bonfires are lit in the Diamant
and Virreina squares, to grill 'llonganices' and 'botifarrons' from Sa
Pobla. The Mallorcan dances and songs with xeremiers and the groups
Espirafoc and
Musica
Nostra will entertain the evening.
