World Wetlands Day

World Wetlands Day
What is World Wetlands Day? 2 February each year is World Wetlands Day. It marks the date of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar, on the shores of the Caspian Sea. The Convention on Wetlands is an intergovernmental treaty which provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.

For this celebration, the Albufera Natural Park of Mallorca has organised for next Saturday February 3, some itineraries, guided by monitors from the Environmental Education Service of the Department of Environment, to inform on the natural values of the area.  Those interested should go to the reception desk at the Park between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
