Majoral presents to Antich the "Proclamation for education in Catalan"
Yesterday, the composer singer Biel Majoral presented over 3,000 signatures to President Antich, in favour of the "Proclama per l'ensenyament en català", that have been collected over the past twelve months.  The text, written by the recently deceased Josep Melia, by Josep Massot and Biel Majoral himself,  claims a "decree that assures that the education at all levels and in all centres of the Balearics, should be entirely in Catalan, and should bear in mind the cultural, geographical, historical, literary reality, etc. of all the lands where Catalan is spoken".  The text was read in public on February 24, 2000, as the presentation of the 2000 Edition of the "Catalan Book Week".

Biel Majoral was accompanied by Josep Melià Jr. and the general director for Culture, Pere Muñoz.
