The Platform for Living Together, comprised of the Association of Immigrants,
various NGOs, unions and political parties, amongst others, has called
for a demo-party against the Law of Foreigners.
With the slogan, "Against the Law of Foreigners, For the Human Rights.
Papers for everyone, no-one is illegal", the demo will take place in Palma
next March 25 at 12 noon, going from the Plaça d'Espanya and ending
at Ses Voltes.
Meanwhile, the federal committee of the PSOE announced yesterday that
it would lodge an appeal due to unconstitutionality against four precepts
of the Law for Foreigners. It also announced the presentation of a proposition
law to the Parliament, with a view to debating this topic again. The Autonomous
Communities of Extremadura, Aragón, Castilla-La Mancha, Balears
and Andalucía, all governed by PSOE, have also decided to lodge
appeals for unconstitutionality against the Law.
