Muro: Sant Francesc Fair

Muro is celebrating the annual Fira de Sant Francesc, as always on the first Sunday after Easter. The programme of events started on April 19 at 6.30 p.m. with a puppet show at the municipal library and the opening of the exhibition by the artist Coll Sotomayor at the Casal de Cultura. On Friday the Jazz recital by the Swedish Jazz group with Ola Brunkert (ex drummer of ABBA) as from 10.30 p.m. at the Municipal Theatre.

The majority of the activities will take place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22, Sant Francesc day. The XIV Artisan Fair opens at 6 p.m. Saturday and a horse exhibition in the square and dance.

Sunday 22, as from 9 a.m. Xeremies, to announce the fair, which includes animals, selected birds, exotic animals, agricultural and industrial equipment, cars, motorbikes, plants and flowers, antique furniture and other bargain objects. There will also be a horse exhibition, pedigree dog contest, an exhibition of Ibizan dogs and Mallorcan Ratter.

The events will continue through Sunday an at 10 p.m. at the Municipal Theatre the Agrupació Artística Murera will close the fiestas with the play "Por" by Antoni Mus, directed by Paco Truy.
