Bibliographic catalogue of the Balearics on Internet

The Councillor for Education and Culture of the Balearics, Damià Pons, and the rector of the Balearic University, Llorenç Huguet, will present on May 14, the project "Catàleg Bibliogràfic de les Illes Balears" (CABIB).

The CABIB is an initiative of library cooperation that has the objectives of offering all the libraries in the Balearics a common administration system with the latest technological advances to permit the public access to all the bibliographic information on the Islands via a common basis from any library and from any computer connected to Internet.

This is an innovative and pioneer initiative in Spain, fruit of collaboration between the Universitat de les Illes Balears, the Conselleria d'Educació i Cultura, the three insular councils, the Ajuntament de Palma and the foundation Can Torró in Alcúdia.
