One year more, the town of Lloret de Vistalegre, also known as Llorito,
will celebrate its spring fair on the second Sunday in May.
"Sa Fira 2001" is celebrated this year on Sunday, May 13. The programme
starts with the Cultural Week (May 7-11) organised by the Antònia
Alzina C.P. School.
On Saturday, May 12, amongst other activities, at 4pm there will
be clay pigeon shooting, on the shooting range in Sineu, organized by the
Hunting Society of Lloret. At 6pm in the Plaza Jaume I there will be a
workshop on the traditional Mallorcan Slingers ("Foners"), organised by
the Grup d'Esplai "Es Niu des Puput". There will be three exhibitions opening:
At 7.30pm, in the Cases dels Tarongers, a photographic exhibition "Flors
d'arran de camí" by Pep Bonet Capellà; At 7.45pm at the Solfeig
premises, an exhibition of symbolic paintings "Pekart" by Rafel Beltran
Amengual; and at 8pm, in the Youth Centre, an exhibition of paintings by
Antoni Marcús Moll.
The events will finalize on Saturday with a concert by the Porreres
Choir, which will be held at 9pm, in the Church, followed by a big
open-air dance organised by the Quintos/2001 in the Plaza Jaume I
commencing at 11pm, with the performances by the groups Familia López
and Capitán Crash.
On Sunday 13, from 9am, there will be the traditional exhibition of
animals and craft work. The programme of "Sa Fira 2001" will finalize at
8pm with a Concert by young musicians and the Young Persons String Orchestra
of Marratxí in the church.
