Plataform Pro-Parc de Llevant

The councillor for Environment, Margalida Rosselló, presented on May 12, the Advance of the Plan for Administration of Natural Resources (PORN) for the Península de Llevant. El Plan includes the creation of the Natural Park of the Serra Llevant, that will be the largest protected area in the Balearics and the first that will bear in mind both the preservation of the natural surroundings and the promotion of the economic activity of the area.

At the moment, the Draft of the Plan is open to the public and the Plataforma Pro-Parc has sent the local Ministry of Environment of the Balearic Government, a set of suggestions where, after evaluating the proposal positively, they request that the new norm be modified in some aspects, to extend its protection level.

The Plataforma Pro-Parc de Llevant has been supported by 50 entities, associations and parties, plus a numerous group of individuals who all support the creation of the Parque Natural de Llevant. The group has a web page (www.mallorcaweb.net/parcllevant) where you may join officially via Internet.
