Valldemossa: Fiestas for Santa Catalina Tomàs

This weekend will be held the patron saint fiestas in Valldemossa, for Santa Catalina Tomàs. The programme of events will start on Thursday July 26 at 10 p.m. with the traditional announcement "Hereva" and "Dames d'Honer", and with the proclamation of the fiestas by Jaime Carvajal Urquijo. The programme will continue all weekend with different cultural, entertainment and sporting events.

The most traditional events of the fiestas are the procession with the "Relic of the Saint", that will take place on Friday 27 as from 7 p.m.; the mass with the "Ball de l'Oferta", on Saturday 28 at 11 a.m.; and the Parade with the Beata, on the same Saturday as from 9.30 p.m.

Also worth mentioning, amongst the other events, are the dance on Thursday 26 with the groups Swing Quartet, Zarza and Sirius; and on Friday 27 with Syphosis, Alabama and Pedregats; also the "Exhibition competition of Paellas and Typical Dishes" that will be held on Friday 27 as from midday and the Children's Fiesta sponsored by "Costa Nord" that will take place on Sunday 29 at 4.30 p.m.

Before the dance on Friday 27, there will be a play by the Companyia de Teatre Xesc Forteza.

The fiestas will end on Sunday night with a popular supper and the projection of the film "U-571" in the fresh aire.
