BalearWeb organises the Web Prize 2002

On May 23, coinciding with the celebration of a virtual cultural meeting with the participation of artists from the islands, the winner of the "Premi Web 2002" will be announced.

BalearWeb, the group that comprises and provides common services to MallorcaWeb, MenorcaWeb, EivissaWeb and FormenteraWeb, is organising the third edition of the "Premi Web" among the users of the BalearWeb FREEmail, free service that offers web space and email accounts.

Objective and conditions
The objective of this contest is to promote the contents related to the culture and economy of the Balearic and Pitiüses Islands on Internet, therefore the participating webs should be in Catalan and optionally in other languages, and their contents should be related to the culture and economy of Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and/or Formentera. More over the competing web pages must be hosted on the web space assigned by the BalearWeb FREEmail service and they should fulfil the conditions that are to be found on the registration form. Those interested in participating in the competition may send a message to master@balearweb.com before May 3, 2002. Those people who are not yet users of the service, should subscribe previously via the registration form.

Jury
The jury that will decide the winner of the "Premi Web 2002" will be comprised of authors of the webs that where awarded in the previous editions and by two people designated by BalearWeb.

Prize
The prize for the best 2002 web will be the purchase of a personal domain for the wining web, the hosting of the web with its own domain --free and for life -- and 600 €. On May 23, coinciding with the celebration of a virtual cultural meeting with the participation of artists from the islands, the winner of the "Premi Web 2002" will be announced.

Online poll
From May 6 to 19, 2002 there will be an online poll on MallorcaWeb, MenorcaWeb, EivissaWeb and FormenteraWeb, so that the interested internauts may vote for the best web for 2002. The results of the poll will be born in mind by the jury, but will not be vinculating.

Chat with the contestants
The meeting will take place on May 16, 2002, at 9 p.m. in BalearWeb's Chat room. The objective of the meeting is for the participants in the contest to meet and to contrast their opinions about the webs presented for the Prize and about internet in general.
