On March 7, a new cultural centre opened in the restored Casal Son
Tugores in Alaró. The building belongs to the Town Council and has
tree floors and 1.100 m2. Coinciding with the
commemoration
the 100 years of electricity on Mallorca that this year is being organised
by the Alaró Town Council, the centre has opened with the exhibition
Llum+Llum, a walk through the pictorial and sculpture production of 42
artists relating Mallorca during the second half of the XX century. More
over, one of the halls of the centre holds a small exhibition called "Mompó
a cel obert", that groups a series of photographs in black and white of
the artist Manuel Hernández Mompó –member of the "
Grupo
Alaró"– taken by Joan Ramon Bonet.
The artists represented in the exhibition are: Ferran Aguiló,
Mateu Bauçà, Enrique Broglia, Ramon Canet, Joan Costa, F.
García Sevilla, Mati Klarwein, Aleix Llull, Menéndez Rojas,
Joan Miró, Peter Phillips, Bernadí Roig, José M. Sicilia,
Antoni Tàpies, Amador, Joan Bennàssar, J. M. Broto, Maria
Carbonero, Ñaco Fabré, Susy Gómez, J. M. de Labra,
Biel March Simó, Richt Miller, M. Hernández Mompó,
Fabrizio Plessi, Horacio Sapere, Josep M. Sirvent, John Ulbricht, Miquel
Barceló, Jim Bird, M. A. Campano, Pep Coll, Rafa Forteza, J. Guinovart,
Pep Llambias, Glòria Mas, Jaume Mir, Guillem Nadal, Juli Ramis,
Joan Sastre, Antoni Socias, and Pere Quetglas "Xam".
The entrance is free and the visiting times are from Tuesday to Friday
from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and Festivities from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
