For Sant Pere, fiestas in Andratx

Andratx celebrates once again their festivities for Sant Pere, patron saint of the town, with an extensive programme of events of all kinds.

The events started last Friday 14, with a benefit festival for the Red Cross, but the real programme will not start until Thursday 20, at 10 p.m. This is the premiere of the operetta, "El huésped del Sevillano" with the soloists Gloria Beron, Pedro Granados, Sonia Gomez, Pepe Galmés, and the participation of the Andratx Municipal Choir, the Andratx Children's Choir, a Folk Dance Group and an Orchestra of Adults from the town too. The operetta, will take place in the cloister of the Town Hall, and is directed once again by Josep Maria Morena, who is responsible for the Andratx Music School and also the Capella Mallorquina. After the premiere there will be two more performances of the operetta, on Saturday 22 at 10 p.m. and Sunday 23, also at 10 p.m.

The programme includes many other events such as the "III Mostra de Teatre Infantil i Juvenil" of the APIMA del CP es Vinyet, on Saturday 22 at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Theatre Sa Teulera; the Concert for the End of the Music School Course on Tuesday 25 at 7.30 p.m. in the Town Hall cloister; and the performance of the play "DOMOS" by the Companyia Manacorina Independent, on Friday 28 at 9 p.m. at Sa Teulera.

As for the modern music concerts, there will be a Fiesta 40 Principales, with the performance by local groups and Melon Diesel, amongst others, on Friday 28; a popular dance with the orchestras Miquel Massot, Alazán and Oxalis on Saturday evening 29, and the end of the fiestas a concert by Javi i Bruno Sotos and Natalia of Operación Triunfo (Spanish 'Pop Idol'). All these concerts will take place in the Town Hall.
