Festival "Waiting for Waits"

On July 12, 18, 26 and 27, the second edition of the "Waiting for Waits" music festival will take place, organised by Tomeu Gomila, with a view to paying tribute to the Californian multiartist, Tom Waits, a musician and film maker with a strong personality who has always been identified with the most obscure and underprivileged sectors of society.

The first edition was held at the recently closed Sonotone Club in Palma and this year the performances will take place at the Sa Nostra Cultural Centre in calle Concepció in Palma, at the headquarters of ARCA in calle de la Pau in Palma and at the Cloister of Sant Francesc in Muro.

On July 12, at 8.30 p.m., the North Americans Chris Mills and Deanna Varagona will perform at the Sa Nostra Cultural Centre. On July 18, at 9.30 p.m., the Mallorcan Maika Makovski and the North American Howe Gelb will sing at the headquarters of ARCA. Finally, the North Americans Fillup Shack and Jenifer Jackson accompanied at the piano by Marc from the Mallorcan group El diablo en el ojo will perform on July 26 at 9.30 p.m. at the headquarters of ACA and on July 27 at 8.30 p.m., at the Cloister of Sant Francesc.

Tickets for the concert cost 10 euros. The concert that will be held on July 12 at the Sa Nostra Cultura Centre i Palma is free.
