Music for everybody at the fiestas in Llucmajor

The fiestas for Santa Càndida in Llucmajor will begin on August 1 with a concert by the American Spiritual Ensemble in the Plaça Espanya. After this concert, the festive activity will continue on Tuesday, August 6, with several sporting activities and a concert by David Civera and Els Pets.

On Wednesday 7, the music will play again the key role, with two concerts: at 9 p.m., in the Convent de Bonaventura, by the Hungarian Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra, and at 22:30 h, in the Plaça Espanya, by Miguel Ríos.

The artist invited on Thursday 8, is King Africa, and on Friday 9 there will be a pop concert by Gisela and Alejandro from Operación Triunfo and the group Efecto Mariposa.

On Saturday 9, as from 6.45 p.m., the most traditional events of the programme will be held: the street parade and the "quadrat" by the Municipal Music Band, followed by the Banda de Cornetes i Tambors de Llucmajor and the xeremiers, the devils and giants. This day there will also be an open air dance with music by the orchestras Alcatraz and Miquel Massot.

The last day of the fiestas, Sunday 11, there will be the religious events (flower offering to the Virgin, mass, "ball de l'oferta" and procession) and several performances by folk groups and the Cavallets Cotoners. At night, horse races, popular games and finally a grand firework display.
