Patron saint festivities in Estellencs

Estellencs is celebrating from August 17 to 31 the patron saint festivities for Sant Joan Baptista. Amongst other activities, on August 27 at 7 p.m. several exhibitions will open at the Casa de Cultura and at the Cotxeries. The same Tuesday 27 there will be a popular supper and an open air dance with music by the group Swing.

As for Wednesday 27, worth stressing is the presentation of the book "Estellencs imatges d'ahir", by Jaume Bover and Gaspar Jerez, at the Town Council at 8.30 p.m.

On Thursday morning, the day of the patron saint, there will be street parades, the Solemn Mass and the dance "Ball de l'Oferta" by the children of the village. The programme will continue with races and popular games as from 5.30 p.m., a concert by the Banda Lira Esporlerina in the square of the Triquet at 7 p.m. and traditional dances by the group Estol de Tramuntana and the Xeremiers de s'Olla at 10.30 p.m.

On Friday, August 30, amongst other activities, at 7 p.m. there will be a children's festival and entertained by the group Dois, and at 10 p.m. the theatre group Coverbos will stage the play "Ja ha arribat el moro!"

The activities will end on Saturday 31, with the party "Gran festa dels anys 70" and music by the Orquesta Brumas.
