Elena Gómez, winner of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships

On Saturday, in Debrecen (Hungary), the Mallorcan Elena Gómez Servera won the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, in the floor speciality, obtaining Spain's first women's artistic gymnastics medal in an event of this stature.

Elena Gómez is from Manacor, she is 17 years old, and is part of the Gimnàstic Cor Olímpic club. In July 2002 she won the Spanish Championships held in Pozuelo de Alarcón.
