Picasso at the Casal Solleric

Picasso at the Casal Solleric
The main floor (first) at the Casal Solleric is housing until April 6 the exhibition "Suite 347", one of the engraving series by Picasso. The collection, comprising 347 etchings created between the March and October 1968, was first exhibited in December 1968 in a private hall of the Galerie Louise Leiris in París, due to the erotic theme of some of the works.

The exhibition, organised by the Palma Town Council, has the support of the social department of Bancaja, institution that has the three complete engraving series by Picasso: the "Suite Vollard", that in 2000 was exhibited in the Museu d'Art Espanyol Contemporani in Palma, the "Suite 156", that in 2001 was presented in the Casal Solleric, and the "Suite 347", that can now be seen in the Casal Solleric. There is more information about the three series on the web Las Suites de Picasso by Bancaja.

As we published recently, the Casal Solleric is housing two other exhibitions. One on the ground and mezanine floors dedicated to the works selected in the "Premi Ciutat de Palma Antoni Gelabert d'Arts Plàstiques 2002", and the other one in the Espai Quatre, consisting of the installation "Random" by Eugenio Ampudia.
