Giants, street fireworks, 'xeremiers', folk dancing... a whole series
of traditional artistic manifestations form the poster for the "Cap de
Setmana de Cultura Popular" that will take place on April 12 and 13 in
Palma.
The fiesta will start on Saturday at 11 a.m. with a street parade by
giants, giant heads and xeremiers through the centre of the city. The activities
will continue in the Pati de la Misericordia, with children's entertainment
by Teresetes de Migjorn and
Cucorba.
At 6 p.m. the
Castellers de Mallorca
will perform followed by the street fireworks. Finally there will be a
dance with music by s'Arrual Jazz Mort.
The following day, as from 5 p.m. there will be a concert by the Cor
Juvenil de la Fundació del
Teatre
Principal, a demonstration of traditional dances by Aires des Pla de
Marratxí, Ordi Broix and Estol Porrerenc, a performance by the Ximbombers
from Sa Pobla and, to close, an open dance by
Herbes
Dolces,
Xaloc
and Al-Mayurqa.
