Weekend of popular culture

Weekend of popular culture
Giants, street fireworks, 'xeremiers', folk dancing... a whole series of traditional artistic manifestations form the poster for the "Cap de Setmana de Cultura Popular" that will take place on April 12 and 13 in Palma.

The fiesta will start on Saturday at 11 a.m. with a street parade by giants, giant heads and xeremiers through the centre of the city. The activities will continue in the Pati de la Misericordia, with children's entertainment by Teresetes de Migjorn and Cucorba. At 6 p.m. the Castellers de Mallorca will perform followed by the street fireworks. Finally there will be a dance with music by s'Arrual Jazz Mort.

The following day, as from 5 p.m. there will be a concert by the Cor Juvenil de la Fundació del Teatre Principal, a demonstration of traditional dances by Aires des Pla de Marratxí, Ordi Broix and Estol Porrerenc, a performance by the Ximbombers from Sa Pobla and, to close, an open dance by Herbes Dolces, Xaloc and Al-Mayurqa.
