Ben Amics, the Balearic
Gay and Lesbian Group, has organised a programme of activities called "Palma
Gay 2003" that will be held from June 16 to 22 to celebrate the Gay Pride
Day. The programme includes exhibitions, a cycle of cineformum and the
presentation of the show "Tagisexual", by La Lupe Teatro.
The main activity will be the Gala Palma Gay 2003, that will be held
in the Parc de la Mar in Palma, on Friday, June 20, as from 9 p.m. Within
the gala night, that will feature several musical performances, the annual
Pink Siurell and Devil will be given. The Pink Siurell is awarded to those
people, entities or institutions who have excelled in their struggle for
the freedom of people and for equality for homosexuals. In contrast, the
Pink Devil is given to those people, entities or institutions who have
stood out for favouring homophobic behaviours and being against freedom
of the people. This year those nominated to receive the Pink Siurell are
Joan Miquel Perpinyà of the Balearic association of Guàrdies
Civils, International Amnesty and Ramon Rotger from the Balearic Association
of Adoptions. And those nominated to receive the Pink Devil are the TV
program "El Diario de Patricia", the political party ASI and Lieutenant
Colonel Antonio Ocaña.
