Photos by Abbas about the Islam

The Cultural Centre of "la Caixa" Foundation, situated in the old building of the Gran Hotel in the Plaza de Weyler in Palma, will house from June 18 de to September 14 the exhibition "Abbas. Visions of Islam", a photographic journey throughout Islam lands carried out during 1987 and 1993 by Abbas, an Iranian photographer settled in Paris, who has belonged to the Magnum Photos Agency since 1981. This exhibition of 99 photographs, in reference to Allah's 99 epithets, corresponds to this journey from Xinjiang to Morocco and from London to Timbuktu and shows the everyday live of Muslims, their spirituality and the Islam political phenomena.

Entrance is free and the visiting times are from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays closed.
