The 8th Festival Internacional de Jazz de sa Pobla will be held from
July 28 to August 26 with five free concerts that will take place at 10.30
p.m. in the Plaza Major of the town, except on the 11th when it will be
in the church square.
The first concert, on Monday July 28, will be by
Bill
Frisell accompanied by the band, The Intercontinentals. On Tuesday,
August 5, the
Camerata
Sa Nostra and the group Contemporary Club Ensemble will perform; on
Monday August 11 it will be the turn of
Eliane
Elias Expanded Trio, on Tuesday August 19
Bill
Thomas Blues Band, and on Tuesday, August 26, the Festival will close
with a concert by
Maria Joâo
Quarteto.
Coinciding with the Festival, the Museu d'Art Contemporani of sa Pobla
will house as from July 18 an exhibition
Jazz
Voyeur by the Mallorcan photographer, Gerardo Cañellas. The
museum will extend its opening hours so that the exhibition can be visited
after the concerts.
