This year the cycle includes a series of Ethnographic Cinema
A concert by the Kurdish singer composer
Sivan
Perwer will start next Friday, October 10, the Ciclo Músicas
del Mundo that is held like every year in the old building of the Gran
Hotel in the plaza Weyler in Palma. A total of six performances make up
the new proposal from the Music Service of the Caixa Foundation.
Within the same month of October there will be two more performances:
Rokia
Traoré (Mali), on Tuesday 21, and
Bonga
(Angola), on Saturday 24. The other three concerts have been programmed
for November. The Polish trio
Kroke
will perform on Friday 7, the Armenian musician
Djivan
Gasparyan on Friday 14, and the cycle will end with the concert by
the counter tenor
Emil
Zrihan, with music influenced by Morocco and Israel, on Friday 26.
All the performances begin at 8 p.m. The tickets cost 3 euros and
can be acquired up to three hours before each concert via the ServiCaixa,
or as from two hours before at the Fundación "la Caixa".
As a novelty, this year a Cycle of Ethnographic Cinema has been programed,
with a free entry and prior inscription. The cycle includes four films
that will be shown at 7 p.m. on October 15 and 18, and November 12 and
27.
