The Opera of the Liceu live at the UIB

Next October 15, the second edition of the educational programme "Òpera Oberta" will start, promoted by the Liceu de Barcelona in collaboration with the Universitat de les Illes Balears and a dozen more universities from Spain. The programme, introduced into the last course as a subject of free configuration, includes the live transmission of five operas of the Liceu Season 2003-2004, accompanied by five conferences and seminars. The transmission of audio and video will be via internet, exactly using a high speed multicast network of RedIRIS.

The programme this year foresees the following transmissions that will take place in the Edificio Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos in the university campus:

TOSCA, by Giacomo Puccini. November 18
WINTERMÄRCHEN, by Philippe Boesmans. December 11
PETER GRIMES, by Benjamin Britten. January 22
MACBETH, by Giuseppe Verdi. March 24
