Festival of Pollença at the Cloister of Sant Domingo

A new edition of the prestigious Pollença Festival will begin today, Saturday, July 3, in the Cloister of Sant Domingo in Pollença with the opening concert by the Ensemble Le Archi della Scala.
The programme for this year includes 12 exceptional concerts until August 28 and once again will have the participation of well known prestigious international artists.
The Festival of Pollença was created in 1962 by the distinguished violinist Philip Newman sponsored by the Pollença Town Council. After his death, the present artistic director, Professor Eugen Prokop, took over, and for some years now, the Festival has been a full member of the Association Européenne des Festivals.
This year is the centenary of the birth of Philip Newman and to commemorate this date on July 17 there will be a Gala Concert by the Symphonic Orchestra of Prague.
