Chopin Festival at the Cartoixa in Valldemossa

There will be four concerts on Sundays in August.

This year, as part of the celebration of the 200 year anniversary of the birth of George Sand, the Cartoixa de Valldemosa will house the Festival Chopin, that will present once more some of the best present day pianists.The concerts will take place on the first four Sundays of August, at 10 p.m., featuring performances by Iván Martín (August 8), Piers Lane (August 15), Mikhaïl Rudy (August 22) and Martin Kasik (August 29).

"George Sand's European Landscapes" is the name of the exhibition by Bruno Zupan that will open on August 6 in the Carthusian Monastery and can be visited until the end of the month, Monday to Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m., Sundays from 7 to 10 p.m..

The composer Fryderyk Chopin and the writer George Sand, lived in the Cartoixa in Valldemossa between 1838 and 1839.
