Fair dedicated to mushrooms and mountain life

Fair dedicated to mushrooms and mountain life

This weekend in Mancor de la Vall.

Mancor de la Vall, a small village of the Serra de Tramuntana situated just a few kilometres from Inca, celebrates this weekend the second edition of the fair "Fira de l'esclata-sang i de la muntanya", organised by the Arrels de la Vall association and the Town Council.

The fair includes a varied programme of activities that began last week with a course about tree pruning, although the most important part of the fair will take place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th.

Saturday 27th will be dedicated to horses. They will leave Son Catlar, have a walk around the mountain, and reach the village at 11.45 p.m. to participate in the Horse Games. Also on Saturday, amongst other activities, there will be the presentation of the new local band of traditional xeremiers, tamboriners and flabiolers.

On Sunday 28th the fair will open with exhibitions and demonstrations of traditional arts related to hunting, farming, mountain life, shoe manufacture and Mallorcan embroidery. Music and dance will also be part of the fair. The most crowded area will be the exhibition and tasting of mushrooms, as well as the local restaurants and bars, where special mushrooms dishes will be served.

The full programme of activities, featuring many other proposals, is available on the web of the Arrels de la Vall association.
