New Wine Festivity in Santa Maria del Camí
Wine tasting, tasting contest, wine cellar tour...
This weekend, in Santa Maria del Camí, the "III Festa del Vi Novell" and the "Ruta dels Cellers" will take place. The events are organised by the Town Council and several cellars from the municipality. The program of activities will begin on Saturday, at 8.30 p.m., in the square of the town, with the arrival of the cart that brings the pine branches. Following the tradition, the branches are given to the cellars that hang them on their main entrances to announce the beginning of the new wine sale. The programme continues with the official proclamation, this year by Tomeu Penya, and wine tasting, barbecue and music by the Xeremiers and the Al-Mayurqa.
On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a wine cellar tour which includes visiting Bodegues Can Rubí, Celler Es Cabàs, Bodegues Ramanyà, Bodegues Macià Batle, Celler Jaume de Puntiró and Celler Sebastià Pastor.
