Signatures in favour of the popular legislative initiative in the Parliament.

On February 15, the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, accepted for proceedings the law proposition by Popular Legislative Initiative presented by the Salvem Mallorca platform, the GOB Menorca and the "Eivissa al límit" platform. The law proposition requests the modification of some articles of the Balearic Territorial Planning Directives with the goal of:

forbid the construction and enlargement of airports;
prevent the construction golf courses, commercial and leisure centres or thematic parks in rural areas;
forbid the construction of motorways;
forbid the construction or enlargement of sport ports;
protect the areas of Es Salobrar in Campos, Es Amunts in Eivissa and the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range;
suspend some partial plans in Eivissa;
and protect the surroundings of the Monestir de la Real, in a radius of 500 metres.

The Salvem Mallorca platform has initiated the campaign to collect signatures in favour of the law proposition by Popular Legislative Initiative. To ensure that the proposed law is debated and voted in the Parliament, the Popular Legislative Initiative will have to collect before three months 10,000 signatures by adult persons registered in the Balearic Islands.

This initiative was already presented in November but was then rejected by the Parliament.
