The programme for this year includes 12 concerts until August 30.
A new edition of the prestigious Pollença Festival will begin on Wednesday, July 5, in the Cloister of Sant Domingo in Pollença with the opening concert by the Balearic Symphonic Orchestras, conducted by Philippe Bender. The programme for this year includes 12 exceptional concerts until August 30 and once again will have the participation of well known prestigious international artists.
This year the Festival will be dedicated to violinist Eugen Prokov, artistic director of the Festival for 39 years who died last year. The Festival of Pollença was created in 1962 by the distinguished violinist Philip Newman sponsored by the Pollença Town Council. After his death, the present artistic director, Professor Eugen Prokop, took over, and for some years now, the Festival has been a full member of the Association Européenne des Festivals.
