The Cultural Centre of the
"la
Caixa" Foundation in the Balearics, in the Plaça Weyler in Palma,
is holding the exhibition Josep Pla: "sóc un illòman",
that can be visited until May 12, 2002.
The exhibition, organised by the
Fundació
Josep Pla with the support form the "la Caixa" Foundation, presents
a collection of texts, manuscripts, photographs and audiovisuals relating
the Catalan author Josep Pla (1897 - 1981) and the books that he wrote
about the Balearic Islands and the Pitiüses.
The title of the exhibition is inspired in the prologue of his book
"Les illes" (
Edicions Destino, 1970),
dedicated not only to Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa, Formetnera and Cabrera,
but also to other islands of the Occidental and Central Mediterranean,
and the Hellenic archipelago.
