Women from Africa and other exhibitions at the Solleric

Women from Africa and other exhibitions at the Solleric
The ground floor of the Casal Solleric in Palma is the scene until December 7 of  the exhibition "Dones d'Àfrica" with photographs by Cati Cladera and interviews by Montse Pablo carried out in Burkina Faso, with the support of the General Direction of Cooperation of the Balearic Government and the NGO Mallorca Amiga and Gascode. The exhibition treats in depth on the daily struggle that women have to be able to survive and the vicious circle of poverty that traps most of the African continent.

On the mezanine floor of the Casal Soller, until December 4 there is an exhibition called "Pintura sin pintura" with works by eight young artists from Castilla y Leon:  Concha Prada, Ángeles San José, Arancha Goyeneche, Juárez & Palmero, Isidro Rodriguez Tascón, Isabel Cuadrado, Daniel G. Verbis and Carlos Coronas.

As far as the Espai Quatre, hall in the basement of the Solleric, it is holding until December 1, 2002, the show  "Conferencia para champiñones" by Domingo Sánchez Blanco (Salamanca, 1955), the winning artist with the video installation "Clase de pintura. 1a parte. Juego de extraños" of the Antoni Gelabert prize for Plastic Arts awarded by the Ayuntamiento de Palma in January of this year as part of the Premis Ciutat de Palma.
