The Cultural centre of the
Fundación
"la Caixa", situated in the old building of the Gran Hotel in the plaza
de Weyler in Palma, is housing until January 11, 2004, an exhibition by
Pierrick Sorin (Nantes 1960), in which the well known French artist presents
the majority of his videos in an installation that represents his home
and workshop. Pierrick Sorin already
exhibited
in Palma his images in movement in an exhibition that took place in
2000 in the Sa Nostra Cultural Centre. Connected to the exhibition, produced
by the
Fondation Cartier pour
l'art contemporain and organised by the
Fundación
"la Caixa", visits have been programmed for school children from Tuesdays
to Fridays, commented visits for the general public from Tuesdays to Saturdays
at 6 p.m. and family visits on Saturdays on October 18 and December 13,
2003 and January 10 in 2004. Prior inscription is necessary via the telephone
971 17 85 12. There will also be experimental video workshops on November
25, 26 and 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. and the workshop called Aula Total, that
will be by the Brazilian artist, Raimo Benedetti, on November 29 as from
10 a.m.
Meanwhile, the cultural centre is housing two other exhibitions: "
Del
modernismo a las vanguardias. Dibujos de la colección de la Fundación
Francisco Godia", that can be visited until November 30, and "10 años
de cultura, 100 años de historia", that can be visited until December
31.
